Mktab began in 2020 as a remote-teaching tool with a C# API behind it. By 2022 it had become mktab-lite, a Vue 3 app where a student finds a tutor, talks to them, books, pays and joins the lesson by video without leaving the app.
Its most distinctive idea is Smartchat: safe, essential chat with no keyboard. Students and tutors reply with pre-filled messages, which keeps every conversation clear-cut, filters out spammers, and moves a request forward one step at a time, from a first hello to an assessment call, a booking and a payment plan.
The pieces below are mktab-lite itself: its original Vue components, each mounted on its own and playing through by itself until you tap it. Supabase and the payment backend are replaced by an in-memory stand-in, so nothing leaves this page.
Setting up a class
Two steps from the tutor's class builder: the days the class runs, and the payment plans students can choose from, at the tutor's own prices.
The booking link
Each class has a link of its own. The student sees the class and its timetable, picks one of the tutor's plans and confirms. Nothing is charged until after the lesson.
